/Watch out for GEMS TV ad/

The next time you catch the GEMS (Go-for-extra-mile-service) TV ad...watch out for this man..aka..Ayah Sadiq..aka...Herman (Odah).

We saw it last night while watching the Chinese drama at 7pm. Sabryna shouted..."EH!BAPAK SADIQ" and Danish answered "Where???Where???Where???". Funny DANISH!

By the way, he was excited last night sebab found his school bag but PE uniform still missing. Wanted to buy textbook today, I gave him money already but when Abah dropped him off at Mak's house, Danish asked for it again. Abah being blur as ever...gave him. When asked, Danish said he forgot that Mummy gave him already.

/School reopens tomorrow.../

Abah mengeluh aje today...apa tidak...tommorrow back to school and the worst thing of all (for HIM!), cannot watch the 3am World Cup matches anymore. Sungguh sedih..we feel for you Abah (haha NOT!!).

Muhammad seems not affected at all...anyway he had been going back to school during the holidays for band practices. Today DIE DIE must go over to Mak's house to fetch his school shoes back. If not...pergi sekolah pakai sandal lah!

Danish has yet to find his school bag which has gone missing since the first day of the holidays. Cik Ad punya kerjalah...went to hide his bag in the store room. Up till now, Danish still cannot remember where and what colour is his school bag.

Sabryna pulak....Aiyah...her teacher called last Friday to remind girl to come back to the child care centre on Mon. Last day for her to enjoy! Kesian girl...others ada school holidays dia tak de. Always argue not fair!

All this remind me of my schooling years...dah nak reopen, pencil hilang, eraser hilang, school uniform pun hilang. Had to make the trip to the bookshop to get new school supplies. First day selalu tak banyak activity sebab teachers and students masing-masing need to readjust themselves.

This June holidays came and went very fast. The kids get to go holidays, went to school camps and learnt new campfire song (...a teh tarik-a teh tarik, roti prata-roti prata teh tarik..), Iman & co had a sleepover, me & Abah getting fat, me got a new job (starting in July), celebrated my birthday and EAT..EAT..EAT!

/How I spent my BIG day.../

Yeah..sigh...my BIG 35th year in this world finally arrived. Kidz & Abah bought me a pendant for my new snake chain. We spent the whole day in JB doing the following activities :-

1) First stop, service the car and bought a new tyre to replace the torn one last week...our 1st experience stuck at the side of PIE with a flat tyre.

2) Next stop, Jusco City...lunch at Sushi King, me went for a hair cut at H2O (I cut real short this time round and they all laughed at me!!!), watched CARS (but we warned Danish not to tell the story since he went to watch it before us) and we ended off with dinner at Flinstone's Cafe.

By the time we reached home, it was nearly midnight. Everyone was tired and went to sleep straightaway....

/Sniff...Cold...Sniff/

Aiyohhh..I'm down with a cold. Already on friday night, my diaphragm hurts like what. So on Sat, got chance to meet Busu who gave me full body massage esp. at the diaphragm area!! At least the pain got lessened.

Sunday, woke up with a cold but because I promised that we going to watch X-Men with Saiful aka Pak Busu (the kidz' uncle), had to drag myself out. Bought flu tablets from Guardian and managed to get my white T-shirt & pants from Giordano for my new workplace. Women are amazing...sakit-sakit but can still shop.

Hopefully by tomorrow my cold will be gone and I get my nose back in order. The whole of next week will be a long and buzy one since I got to clear several accounts before my new working schedule kicks in July 2006.

By the way...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Abah...but as usual every year, we kept celebrating it one week earlier. Good also..everywhere is so crowded with people!

/School camp + World Cup/

Poor Abah...pity him because he couldn't catch the World Cup due to work. Being Chief Camp forced him to sacrifice his most fave past time.

But alas..being him, he found a way to get his thing. Last Fri when I went to visit him with the kids at the camp site, found out that after lights out..the men went to watch at a nearby coffee shop. Kesian the ladies, have to look after while they were gone.

Now I wonder if he lost his voice due to shouting at the campers or shouting 'OLE! OLE! OLE!'

/Future Perth Residents/

Our objectives have been met more or less during the Perth trip.
1. Check out houses & suburbs (north & south side)
2. Check out school for the kids
3. Most importantly...we stamped our passports already. So officially, we have received our PR status. So no need to worry so much about fees, medical expenses and also able to work without having to apply for foreign permit.
4. Most amazing thing was that we controlled our shopping since the items are getting more expensive than before. What we bought were mostly Cadbury chocolates. SEDAP sungguh!!!

/What we did in Perth.../

Create your own video at One True Media

Day 1 (28th May)
- Left for Changi Airport at 6.30 am and Wani got a surprise farewell from her family. She did not even know where she was going...just followed blindly.
- 4 hours in Qantas plane (sleeping,eating,watched movies,play games)
- Reached Perth around afternoon..headed down to Criterion Hotel at Hay Street.
- Found out that Mak's fave cafe, Oleh-Oleh was just 4 shops after the hotel.
- Since its was close to 5.00 pm, we walked through the park towards the Bell Tower.
- Took the free Blue CAT bus back to the hotel.
- Early night sleep.

Day 2 (29th May)
- Woke up to a rainy & cold morning (18 degrees) and have breakfast in the hotel rooms (bread & Nutella)
- Book the Tree Top Walk tour for tommorrow with Lobster lunch for everyone.
- Me & Abah walked up to Adelaide Terrace to try to hire a Terrago (8-seater MPV). Got one for the day at A$120 including insurance.
- Drove up to Mirabooka to a Kak Rahimah & Abang Zainal's house for a visit. They have migrated to Perth more than 10 years ago. Journey took about 20 minutes from Perth City. Saw the public schools and houses along the way. Very cosy & quiet. Had a mini lunch of roti & kari daging at Kak Rahimah's place. Since the 2nd son worked at a bread factory, she presented us with a loaf of bread for the journey back home.
- Went to Masjid Al-Taqwa which was a little bit rundown but it was closed except for prayer times. No administration people around unlike our mosques in Singapore.
- Time to drive across the Swan River to the south side of Perth. Headed down to East Cannington where our friends, Nora & Hisham are staying with their 4 kids for this year. Houses are more neater than the northern part. Newer also but according to my research...it has one of the highest rental rates in Perth.
- Spent lunch time with my friends, the twins (the 2 older ones were in school) and plus Hisham's parents who were staying for 3 months.
- Checked out Langford Islamic College where Hanis & Nadia went to school. Talked to the teacher on the curriculum and also the registration procedures.
- Headed back to the hotel since we had to return the car by 5 pm.
- Ate dinner at Insan Cafe at Murray Street. I think they hailed from Malaysia...food not as delicious as Oleh-Oleh.
- Rest and relax

Day 3 (30th May)
- Woke up early again and headed down to the pick-up area for the Tree Top Tour booked under Pinnacles.
- Dropped by Doonberry for afternoon tea before proceeding to the Diamond Tree.
- By lunch time, we reached the Diamond Tree. Abah climbed halfway before complaining that his legs went crampy due to the coldness.
- Had lobster lunch which was excellent.
- During the bus ride, Wani gotten dizzy and sick!! Kudos to Fuad for cleaning up the mess. Abah tried but he also ended up sick tooo!!
- Reached the Tree Top Walk. Nothing like the HSBC Tree Top!!! This one more shiok and has one of the most beautiful scenery.
- Headed back to the hotel at almost 9 pm. Cleaned up and rest.

Day 4 (31st May)
- We took our time to wake up since not much activity lined up except shopping.
- Had breakfast, walked around town, shopped at the souvenier shop beside our hotel owned by a pretty Indonesian.
- Our Airport shuttle picked us up around 12 pm and we spent the rest of the remaining time at the Perth International Airport.
